Recently, Zani has been led in a multi-handed rape trial, represented a member of a large armed robbery gang accused of 134 offences and was the advocate in a complex 3 week argument involving prosecution witnesses refusing to give evidence at trial due to fear.
Zani has lectured at the University of Westminster and at solicitor seminars. She is also a former volunteer at the Paddington Law Centre and currently sits on the Board of Directors at her local Community Centre.
Zani received an honours degree in Politics & International Relations from Reading University before going on to complete the CPE at City University. Prior to commencing her legal training, Zani was a housing officer dealing exclusively with homeless people. Whilst doing this she saw firsthand that many of their issues – such as mental health, substance abuse, unemployment and criminality – regrettably provided an often unavoidable gateway into the criminal justice system. This provided her with the impetus to pursue a legal career.
Zani’s outside interests include tennis, entertaining, current affairs and southern African history and development.
