EU update

The focus of this seminar will be on current issues arising from the Immigration (EEA) Regulations 2006 and the new Immigration (EEA) Regulations 2016 in force since [February 2017]. The seminar will aim to provide a practical guide to key current issues under the regulations i.e. statutory appeals (rights of appeal, grounds of appeal, location of appeals, in country or out of country), case law developments (EU and domestic) concerning EU nationals/ 3rd country nationals and in particular Zambrano carers, case law developments concerning the relationship between the Citizenship Directive and the domestic EEA regulations. The seminar will end by  touching on current thoughts on the implications of Brexit for EU and third country nationals with current rights under EU law.
