Right to work issues for employers, including EU workers

1st February 2018

This seminar is aimed at business immigration solicitors and in-house lawyers who advise on ‘right to work’ issues. We will give a brief overview of the most common ‘right to work’ categories and then examine in greater detail issues that cause more concern, such as the automatic extension of right to work under section 3C and 3D Immigration Act 1971, dependents, students, and ‘switching’. We will explore the right to work of EEA family members, with or without official documentation, and we will give an overview of the current Brexit proposals for EEA nationals. Finally, we will look at the Civil Penalties scheme with a view to ensuring best practice to avoid a financial penalty.
