At the conclusion of the fact-finding hearing the Judge refused to provide DR with a full copy of the Judgment due to fears of dissemination within the prison environment i.e. being shared with others.
· DR pleaded guilty (criminal court) to sexually abusing his daughter (3yo) and sentenced to a minimum of 16 years, during these proceedings.
· DR’s sister, A, suffered from significant speech difficulties prohibiting her ability to effectively communicate. She made allegations of serious sexual abuse against DR.
· There were similar allegations made by A against professionals – which were clearly false.
· Case progressed to Court of Appeal on the issue of disclosure and whether Court could withhold a copy of Judgment from an intervener.
